Hiroshi Doi is a highly relevant Japanese Reiki master. His investigations and insights into Reiki have made a significant contribution to the global Reiki community. At 90 years old, he continues to transmit the essence and origin of what was founded as Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho by the founder, Mikao Usui, in 1922.
The main body of this publication consists of the transcribed and edited content from the historic Traditional Reiki Workshop in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, Spain, 2015, taught by Hiroshi Doi. In response to the desire of Western practitioners to learn more deeply and precisely about the Traditional Reiki of Mikao Usui, Doi sensei agreed to give the only lifetime workshop on Japanese Traditional Reiki and came to Spain for this purpose. The translation and edition of this content were done with the utmost respect for the words of Doi sensei, with the wish that readers could almost «hear» in English what Doi sensei is saying in Japanese.
As a translator and editor, I added footnotes to update specific facts and provide more details on how to perform some techniques. To complement the main content, I included additional information and historical documents that I have been working on for more than two decades to refine their translations.
